Vacheron Constantin has put his collection landed on the island on the market in 2008. The watch manufacturer has now presented a new family member, a wharf on the island in stainless steel. This watch is once more the link between contemporary design and traditional watchmaking art as it is customary at Vacheron Constantin. This timepiece convinces by its modern design that does not go unnoticed and his inner technique, which has been certified by the Geneva seal.
The pier of the island Watch has a rugged stainless steel whose structures are even more accentuated by the combination of polished and brushed surfaces. The case has a diameter of 41 mm and combines three different designs, typical at Vacheron Constantin: a round bezel, a box-shaped cushion and a stature in the shape of barrel. This harmonious design ‘form in the form’ gives the watch a unique aesthetic character. The caseback is transparent and allows a view of the inside of the movement.
The island platform is equipped with the new caliber manufacture 5100. The movement is self-winding, consists of 172 spare parts and was of course entirely designed, developed and manufactured by the Vacheron Constantin House. The movement has hands for hours, minutes, and seconds as well as a date function. It beats at 28,800 alternations at the time and has a power reserve of 60 hours thanks to its two barrels.
The pier of the island watch differs mainly by its dial on several levels. Two different versions are available: silver or black. The display in relief in three different parts ensures legibility perfect with hour indexes and Arabic numerals, all white and luminescent. The classic date window is replaced by a display on two levels. The days of the month are registered on a metallic glass disk and can be read by a pointer running.
The new replacement model of the watch stainless steel Island Wharf is waterproof up to a depth of 30 meters and comes with two bracelets – a Brown alligator and a black rubber.
