News For Female Watch Fans By A. Lange & Söhne, IWC & Co.
The exhibiting brands at the Geneva Watching Salon served almost every taste: sporty chronographs, unusual timepieces and world premieres were presented. Ladies interested in mechanical watches also got their money’s worth at this year’s SIHH. With a smaller case diameter, refined dials and elegant bracelets, the brands offer a wide range of models ranging from stainless steel watches to complications.
Most Beautiful Ladies’ Watch # 1: A. Lange & Söhne Kleine Lange 1 Moon Phase
The manufactory from the Saxonian Glashütte presents a small electronic wristwatch from a2zcamerablog to the ladies’ world with the Little Lange 1 Mondphase. A. Lange & Söhne combines the moon phase indication with a guilloched dial and a 36.8 millimeter measuring rose gold case.
The housing, which is 1.7 mm smaller than the men’s model, surrounds the decentralized time display, the typical large-scale date as well as the gear reserve display for the manufac- turer. At five o’clock, A. Lange & Söhne places the moon-disk with its two golden moons, tuned in color to the dial. The complication reflects the movement of the moon so accurately that it must be corrected manually only after more than 122 years. In the Kleine Lange 1 Mondphase, the German watchmaker installed his hand elevation L.121.2 based on the caliber of Lange 1. The model offers a reserve of 72 hours and is available for 38,500 euros.
Beautiful Ladies’ Watch # 2: A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia
In addition to the Kleine Lange 1, the Glashütter Manufaktur A. Lange & Söhnecomplemented their Saxonia collection, which was first launched in 1994, by two more ladies’ watches. The models presented at the Geneva watchmaker combine a silver dial with a mother-of-pearl dial and a simple precious metal case.
Hands and indexes in gold are matched to the precious metal of the 35 mm measuring case. On the inside oscillates the manufaktur-like hand-pickup caliber 941.1 with 21,600 semi- oscillations per hour. The two models with mother-of-pearl dial and small second at six o’clock are available in white or red gold. For 16,500 euros, the wearer is allowed to wear the watch on the white alligator strap on the wrist.
Beautiful Ladies’ Watch # 3: IWC Da Vinci Automatic 36
With the Da Vinci Automatic 36, the Schaffhauser manufactory IWC provides a pure ladies’ watch to the basic model of its new Da Vinci line. While the case of the variant designed as a unisex model measures 40 millimeters, ladies find an elegant companion in the four millimeter smaller equivalent.
The argenté dial dials Arabic numerals as well as a round date window at six o’clock. The Da Vinci Automatic 36 is powered by the SW 300 automatic caliber from Sellita, which has a reserve of 42 hours. The easy-to-move belt knobs IWC chose for the new Da Vinci ensure that the watch adapts comfortably to the wearer’s wrist.
Particularly eye-catching is the model in rose gold with diamond-studded bezel and link bracelet, which hits 42,300 euros. It is also available in a stainless steel variant without diamonds for a price of 11.600 euros.
For women who prefer leather to the precious metal, IWC also applies the Da Vinci Automatic 36 to a brown alligator leather band. This model is available for 14,100 euros.
Beautiful Ladies’ Watch # 4: Ressence Type 1² Squared
The small watch manufacturer Ressence, headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium, recently launched the new Type 1² collection of its first-time stainless steel watch. The brand, whose steadily moving dial to its recognition mark advanced, was represented this year for the first time at the Geneva clock.
The movement of the interleaving discs is based on the Eta automatic movement 2824-2. It allows the entire disc and the auxiliary dials to move for time indication instead of the hands. The large disc, which occupies the entire dial, shows the minutes with the printed hand, while the carrier reads the hours, seconds and the weekday on the totalizers. The case measures 41 millimeters and is made of stainless steel instead of the previously used titanium. The flatter housing height was realized by the fact that the originally installed, rotatable glass floor, whose function is a fold-out lever for time and date adjustment, is realized. Also the form is new: the former round housing takes on the type 1² a pillow form.
The unisex model is available in the dial versions silver, night blue, champagne or ruthenium as well as on different leather tapes and costs 17.500 euros each.
Beautiful Lady’s Watch # 5: Van Cleef & Arpels Lady’s Arpels Papillon Automate Watch
With an elaborately decorated dial and a small butterfly, Van Cleef & Arpels drew attention at this year’s Geneva watch salon. In its 40 millimeter measuring Lady Arpels Papillon Automate Watch, the Parisian brand – like in the previous models of the collection – interprets the movement of nature on the dial. The decentralized time display is at two o’clock, while the butterfly sits at its initial position at eight o’clock.
The energy of the automatic movement developed by the Richemont subsidiary ValFleurierwith two spring housings also causes the butterfly to move: when idle, it flares up to 19 times per hour over the dial, depending on the activity of the wearer this frequency can even double. The butterfly watch is available at a price of 318,500 euros.
