Sporty smart watch.
In 2015 Frédérique Constant, now both Citizen, responded to the growing interest in Smart watches and presented their elegant Horological Smart watches. Now Alpina introduces the Seastrong Horlogical Smart watch.
The Seastrong Horological Smart watch combines the advantages of a (mechanical) sports watch with the amenities of a Smart watch at Localtimezone. The 44-millimeter glass fiber housing remains tight to ten bars and has a unilateral rotating bezel with 60-minute scaling. The rubber band is practical for sporting activities on land or in the water. The design of the dial is already known from the Seastrong Diver Automatic: afterglowing dots and dashes for the hours, a clear line minutiae and striking hands, of which a red tip for the minutes, make the time well readable at all light conditions.
Behind it, the quartz movement MMT-282-1, which in combination with a smart phone offers special functions. Here, Alpina has not increased the circumference compared to the elegant predecessor. The Seastrong Horlogical Smart watch provides information about incoming calls or notifications (the hour handler moves to the appropriate icon on the dial page), provides an activity and sleep record (Activity Tracker, Get-Active Alarm System, sleep monitoring, sleep cycle alarm and more) and sets the time independently when switching to another time zone. With the associated app, other functions such as world time data can be used on the smart phone.
The displays of the smart functions are so discreetly applied to the black dial that they do not interfere with the new Seastrong as a sports watch. Another plus is the attractive price of 595 euros. This makes the Alpina the most affordable Smart watch of a traditional watchmaker.
